The Surfers Paradise Festival is an annual event organised by Surfers Paradise Alliance, encompassing music, art, food and film scenes. The Festival is a free event held during June and July that provides an opportunity for the Gold Coast community and visitors to enjoy the best things about their city and to celebrate the spirit of this special place.

From the 16th June through to 9th July 2011, Surfers Paradise will be filled with energetic live performances, engaging art displays, vibrant outdoor festivals and insatiable food do's.

The inaugural Festival, which was held in 2010, saw the creation of iconic events such as Launch it! - A massive musical showcase held on Surfers world famous beach, where the cream of Australia's music performed a free concert.

Another popular event is the One Way project, which transformed a Surfers Paradise laneway into an artistic hub, where the best of the local arts and music created a street party unlike any other in a day-long cultural festival.

Foodies favourite, A La Carte in the Park, was another key event that saw jazz, food and wine combine perfectly in a riverside location, providing a relaxing day for enjoying the finer things in life.

Sport also features in the Festival program by tying into the Gold Coast's iconic association with surfing and skating. Both activities are integral parts of the very character of the city and are celebrated as part of event.

Working with Gold Coast City Council, Gold Coast Tourism, local businesses, artists, community groups and various entertainment organisations, Surfers Paradise Alliance sees the festival as an opportunity to showcase a rejuvenated Surfers Paradise as well as the city's best cultural offerings.
