The building was originally the Infant Saviour Catholic Church of Burleigh Heads, saved from demolition and re-located to its new home at Mount Tamborine. The building was meticulously taken apart piece by piece, than lovingly restored. To add further grandeur to the elegant surrounds, a sweeping staircase was added, leading to a mezzanine floor which is home to more restaurant seating. Songbirds' creative culinary team selects the finest ingredients and uses organic produce when possible. Meals are prepared in a fresh, innovative style and served in a beautiful environment. Tokonoma Gallery and Café442 Springbrook Road, Mudgeeraba, Queensland Tokonoma is a unique venue on Queensland's Gold Coast combining an unusual modern art gallery with a superb green tea café serving original green tea drinks and desserts, marrying Japanese and Australian flavours.
